About Al-Wasila
Al-Wasīla (ٱلْوَسِيلَة) literally means “the means, the approach, the connection.” In Islamic understanding, it describes the path through which man approaches Allah.
In this sense, we have named our funeral home:
Al-Wasila is your connection and support in times of bereavement. We are there for you when the pain of parting weighs heavily, and we ensure that your loved ones are buried with dignity and in accordance with Islamic tradition.
As the first Islamic master craftsman in the funeral industry in Germany, we combine over ten years of experience with in-depth knowledge of religious duties. We take responsibility for all religious and organizational steps so that you can concentrate on what is essential:
the farewell and the memory.
Thus, Al-Wasila becomes the ‘means’ for you – the help that supports when words fail, that strengthens when the loss is heavy, and that accompanies you in the light of faith with hope and comfort.
About Muhammed Mehdi Öruç
Muhammed Mehdi Öruç is the founder of Al-Wasila and combines many years of experience in Islamic funeral services with a sound professional education. With Kurdish roots from Şırnak, he grew up in Schleswig-Holstein before continuing his professional career in Bavaria.
He had his first encounter with the Islamic burial tradition at the age of 16, when he participated in the ritual washing of a deceased person for the first time. This experience awakened in him the awareness of the great responsibility that comes with serving people in the last stage of life.
Muhammed Mehdi Öruç has been working in the professional funeral environment since 2015 – in a company that had a decisive influence on him and provided him with extensive practical knowledge. In 2021, he decided to pursue master craftsman training in the funeral industry in order to expertly combine Islamic requirements and German legal regulations. This step is rare in the Islamic funeral niche, but particularly important for responsible and legally compliant implementation.
With his return to Schleswig-Holstein in 2025, he is dedicated to providing the Muslim community in Northern Germany with a dignified, trustworthy and religiously authentic funeral service – in the service of Allah and for the good of the Ummah.
